Gone Fishin'

GONE FISHIN’

It’s February in Port Douglas, and some of the cafes and restaurants, as well as some retail stores, have decided to close for a pause and perhaps a refresh or refurb, or have altered trading hours, for at least part of this month.  It is the hottest and quietest part of year, the peak of the wet season, when there are fewer visitors to town.  This “Gone Fishin’” phenomenon has been the case for as long as I have been in Port Douglas, over 28 years.

Those that do stay open are perhaps likely to do better than if everyone was competing for the lower number of clients.

And of course with the rain comes the intense, lush growth of our surrounds – the wet season has its own beauty.

Cote Nord Property Port Douglas chooses to continue to offer full service to sellers and buyers of real estate during this time, and if you’re thinking of listing your property, you’re at no disadvantage, as the internet is always open!
